Curriculum

“GDGIS, Kapurthala is an English medium, co-educational Secondary School, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the entire curriculum is designed with the sole objective of providing wholesome education to a student.”

The school adopts international pattern of education which includes learning by doing, as child learns through various activities related to the subject thus enabling the students to learn various concepts in real life situation and build the concept through analyzing the results.

The aim of this curriculum is to achieve the objective of imbibing the Application, Analytical and creative skills in our students. For the tiny tots, the play-way method of teaching is adopted and individual attention is paid to make learning a pleasurable pursuit. The theme based design of classes is created to provide ample chances of learning by observation & doing; co-relating knowledge and its application. Wherever possible, an extensive use of audio-visual aids and practical demonstrations are also carried out to ensure learning is not a monotonous experience, but an enriching and interesting activity.

School also believes in inculcating education therefore there are arrangements to cater to special needs of children which includes students counselling at all levels pertaining to all such needs as the children may face.

The school follows the system of integrated curriculum in which a unit/topic is taught across different disciplines using a specific set of method through various activities. This helps our children to make connections across curriculum. Activities, project work, presentations, educational trips, guest lectures are an indispensable part of our curriculum so that the concept formation is strong and lasting. The framework also keeps in mind the 'weeks' of the school which are celebrated every month like environment, literary, cultural, science, cosmic, vigilance week etc. The syllabi for the subjects are as prescribed by C.B.S.E.
